Below is a list of golf courses that we can recommend in the area. Please note that this is not a comprehensive list as, if you’re prepared to travel further there are great golf courses in the Johnnesburg Metro, but rather those from which we have had positive feedback from the guests at our YOLO Spaces properties.
Parys Golf & Country Estate
Parys
Having originally been opened in 1876, the Parys Golf Club is infused with plenty of history and heritage, lending it a tangible charm. It was revamped in 2007, and couples this historical elegance with modern facilities and championship golfing on its brand new course.
The Parys Golf Course is designed in such a way that each of the holes presents a welcome challenge to avid golfers. It is situated on the Vaal River, promising spectacular views along the way, which are always fantastic excuses for spending a day on the fairways. The halfway house has a spacious veranda which is the perfect spot in which to sip on a cold drink and snack on tasty food before heading out again.
The Parys Golf Club is equipped with a driving range, putting green and chipping green for those wanting to work on their swing. There is also a well-stocked Pro Shop that sells clothing, gear and accessories for the best game.
Emfuleni Golf Estate
Vanderbijlpark
Emfuleni Golf course was established over 50 years ago as a classic parkland course, situated on the banks of the Vaal River, in Vanderbijlpark. The Emfuleni Golf Course enjoys gorgeous views of the South African landscape and its flora. The bent greens and kikuyu fairways are an inviting getaway from city life, and visitors are welcome.
Golf season is all year round, but the club is closed on Mondays. There is a driving range conveniently situated on the Emfuleni Golf Estate, which is ideal for those wanting to get some practice in, or for those who do not have the time to play a full 18 holes. Golf carts and clubs are available for hire here. There is a Pro Shop at Emfuleni that is well stocked and friendly staff members are equipped to handle questions and requests.
