Explore Parys shops. Enjoy the warm hospitality of this magical little town in the Free State, just 20 minutes drive from the Vaal River Bush Lodge. Walking along the main street you will find a range of interesting stores.
Parys Golf Course and Emfuleni Golf Course are located 25 minutes drive from the lodge if you are tired of waterskiing and wish to escape to the fairways. Golfing is year round for you to enjoy.
River cruises are a great way to relax while sipping cocktails and savouring a buffet lunch all the while marvelling at nature and envying the weekend homes on the banks of the Vaal River around Millionaire’s Bend.
For a truly unique fishing experience why not try out raft fishing safaris on the Vaal river combining river rafting with fishing. Enjoy fly fishing, bait fishing and lure fishing for catches like yellow fish, mudfish, cat fish and carp.
For a fun afternoon try skydiving in the Parys area. The drop zone is surrounded by the famous Vredefort Dome World Heritage site and the spectacular Vaal River system – no previous experience is necessary.
The meteorite impact that happened in the Free State made a crater that was about 300 km wide. This is the biggest meteorite impact that geologists have yet found on Earth and has been made a World Heritage Site.
